.NET then, now and in the future

The .NET Framework has been around since 2002, and has gone through many phases since its inception. We have seen many technologies come out of .NET. Technologies like WinForms, WPF, WCF, WF, Card Spaces, ASP.NET WebForms, ASP.NET MVC, Silverlight and many more. Some are still around, some are not, and some probably shouldn’t be. However, the .NET that we know and love is currently being re-born through the creation of .NET Core, and ultimately .NET 5. It has gone cross platform and open source, and has opened up a whole new world for us .NET developers to play around in. But it might have been done in a such way that is has been a bit hard developers to fully understand. So in this talk, we will have a fun stroll through history, followed by a look at present day, as well as what we know about where we are heading in the future.
